SCIENCE SPOT SERIES- April 6, 2026

April Showers

The Senior Resource Center is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever interactive science series designed especially for older adults. Science Spot will debut this spring and take place on the first Monday of each month from 1:00–2:30 p.m.

This engaging, hands-on series will be taught by Corinne Sosso, an expert science educator and frequent guest on WIFR Morning Blend.

Each month, Science Spot will explore a wide variety of fascinating topics—from space and weather to everyday science and beyond. Participants can expect interactive demonstrations, simple experiments, and clear explanations designed to spark curiosity and build confidence. The goal? To make a scientist out of anyone—and give participants plenty of amazing facts to share with family and friends.

This second class, April Showers, will be held on April 6. Attendees will dive into the water cycle to create condensation, capture a cloud in a jar and more! Write a recipe for a thunderstorm, and investigate interactions of temperature and pressure in this fun class that illustrates the ways of weather.
