Protein, Physical Activity and Aging
Aging can bring unexpected changes—like muscle loss—that affect mobility and independence. But the good news is, with the right nutrition and regular activity, you can stay strong and healthy. Learn tips to support muscle, bone, and overall health as you age. Program led by U of I Extension staff Diane Reinhold. COST: $5

Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is a safe and effective way to build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance overall well-being—without the strain or exertion of traditional yoga. Participants will enjoy calming stretches and simple postures that are accessible to all fitness levels. No prior yoga experience is needed, and all adults age 60 and older are welcome to attend.
Class Details:
- Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, August 25 – October 1
- Time: 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.
- Cost: $60 for all 12 sessions (checks payable to Senior Resource Center)
- Location: Senior Resource Center Activity Room, 206 E. Stephenson St., Freeport
- What to Bring: A long scarf

Better Balance & Strength - Fall Sessions
Due to its success, the Senior Resource Center is excited to offer a fall session of the wellness class, Better Balance & Strength for Older Adults, in partnership with Pathway Physical Therapy LLC. This six-week program is designed to help older adults improve strength, flexibility, and balance in a safe and supportive environment.
Led by experienced physical therapists, participants will engage in gentle exercises aimed at enhancing mobility, preventing falls, and promoting overall well-being.

- Dates: Tuesdays, September 16 – Oct. 21
- Time: 1 – 1:45 p.m.
- Cost: $45 for all six (6) sessions (checks payable to Senior Resource Center). Payment is required to secure your spot. Drop payment off at the Senior Resource Center. Spaces are limited—early registration is encouraged!

Medicare Basics Classes
The Senior Resource Center invites individuals aged 60 and older, as well as their caregivers, to attend a FREE Medicare Basics Class.
This informative session will cover essential Medicare information and provide an opportunity for attendees to get their Medicare questions answered in a straightforward, supportive setting. The Medicare Basics Class is designed to help participants better understand Medicare coverage options, enrollment periods, and other key details, ensuring they are equipped to make informed healthcare decisions.
