Golden Gamers offers something for everyone—whether you enjoy playing old favorites like bingo and card games, or want to learn something new. The group is free and open to all adults age 60 and older.

Holiday Card Making
The Senior Resource Center invites community members to join us for our December Lunch & Learn on Thursday, December 11, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. This month’s session will feature a fun and festive holiday card-making workshop, perfect for anyone looking to get creative and enjoy some holiday spirit.
Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch to enjoy during the event. The workshop is free of charge, and all card-making supplies will be provided. In addition to creating handmade cards, guests will enjoy warm conversation, a relaxed atmosphere, and a special holiday treat.

The Senior Resource Center, in partnership with Birth to Five Illinois: Region 8, is introducing a new program to support grandparents, relatives, and kinship caregivers who are raising children. The Grandfamily Support Group will meet every third Thursday of the month beginning Thursday, November 20, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Senior Resource Center, 206 E. Stephenson Street, Freeport.
Are you a grandparent, relative, or kinship caregiver raising a child? You are not alone. This welcoming group offers an opportunity to connect with others who understand the unique joys and challenges of raising children in today’s world.

Charitable Gifting: Making an Impact at Any Age
The Senior Resource Center invites community members to join us for our January Lunch & Learn on Thursday, January 8, from 12:00–1:00 p.m.
Join us for a one-hour presentation designed to help older adults make the most of their charitable giving. Talia Allen from Edward Jones will walk participants through strategies for supporting the causes they love—including tax-advantaged giving options, how to align gifts with personal values, and ways to maximize the impact of donations. Whether you’re already giving or just starting to explore your options, this session offers clear guidance, easy-to-understand examples, and time for questions. (No financial jargon fluency required—promise!)
