HEALTHY AGING SERIES - Oct 3, 2025
Mastering the Slow Cooker
Learn slow cooker basics such as selecting the correct size and shape to make the most of your cooking time, and the best time to add various ingredients to maximize the taste and texture of foods. We will also discuss food safety basics and leave you with recipes to try at home.

BALANCE CLASS - Oct 7, 2025
Better Balance & Strength - Fall Sessions
Due to its success, the Senior Resource Center is excited to offer a fall session of the wellness class, Better Balance & Strength for Older Adults, in partnership with Pathway Physical Therapy LLC. This six-week program is designed to help older adults improve strength, flexibility, and balance in a safe and supportive environment.
Led by experienced physical therapists, participants will engage in gentle exercises aimed at enhancing mobility, preventing falls, and promoting overall well-being.

Class Details:
- Dates: Tuesdays, September 16 – Oct. 21
- Time: 1 – 1:45 p.m.
- Cost: $45 for all six (6) sessions (checks payable to Senior Resource Center). Payment is required to secure your spot. Drop payment off at the Senior Resource Center. Spaces are limited—early registration is encouraged!

The Senior Resource Center is proud to announce the Senior Lifestyle Expo, a free and informative community event designed to connect older adults, caregivers, and families with vital resources and services to help older adults age well.
The Expo will feature numerous area organizations dedicated to serving older adults. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with experts across a variety of essential services, including:

- Medical Equipment & Mobility Solutions

There will also be free vision, hearing, glucose, and cholesterol screenings as well as flu shots (bring your insurance card to get the free flu shot). There will also be free balance assessments.
The Senior Lifestyle Expo is a welcoming environment where individuals can ask questions, gather information, and find the help they need. Attendees will also enjoy a variety of giveaways. The event is organized by the Senior Resource Center and made possible by presenting sponsor, State Bank, and contributing sponsors, The Foundation for Northwest Illinois and Jewell Insurance.
